Best Lightweight Racing Seat
NRG Innovations
NRG FRP-300 – Best Lightweight Racing Seat
Another product from NRG Innovations.
The FRP-300 fiber bucket style racing seat is constructed with the latest technology using carbon fiber and fiberglass. Carbon fiber being almost as strong as steel with much less weight is a great advantage.

If you’re trying to trim some weight off your vehicle, this may be the best lightweight racing seat marking in at a remarkable 16 lbs. NRG has produced this seat in a medium and large size so if you have a large build, customers as large as 265 lbs have stated the seat fits comfortably.
Initially, the price seems too good to be true but compared to other products you only receive one seat and some customers have complained the velcro and adhesive is of poor quality. Not to mention the seat does not come with any sliders to adjust the seat. It seems NRG skimped on some minor details to offer a carbon fiber product in an affordable price bracket.

Those looking for a low maintenance and easy installation may appreciate the Auto Dynasty’s Type-R Racing Seat, with its Carbon PVC Leather look but woven fabric material.

One last point to consider is often times customers ask if racing seats are street legal and would pass annual safety inspections. Most states require that you retain your vehicles stock safety restraints and are able to fasten them, so keep this in mind when installing your racing seat that you may not want to remove the stock safety belt clip. Of course, if you plan on only racing your car at the track, you wouldn’t need to fulfill this requirement.
